Pictet Team Triumphs at Genev’Hack 2025

At the Genev’Hack 2025 conference, a two-person team from Pictet Tech’s Cybersecurity Engineering department won the ‘Into the Breach’ capture-the-flag (CTF) challenge.

The exercise, held as part of a hands‑on security workshop, put participants in the role of analysts tasked with detecting, investigating and mitigating advanced threats across the attack
lifecycle using enterprise-grade detection, responseand SIEM tooling.

CTF competitions simulate real‑world incident response, requiring skills such as log analysis, threat hunting, reverse engineering, network forensics and rapid decision‑making under time constraints. The team’s performance shone a spotlight on strong analytical rigour and effective collaboration.

Attack & Defence CTF event

Pictet Tech also hosted an in-house Attack & Defence CTF. The format emphasised end‑to‑end capabilities across software development, debugging, systems engineering, log analysis, reverse engineering, networking and offensive security. Participants came from multiple teams, and the results and key takeaways were shared through internal channels.
