Marc Pictet joins Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management Advisory Board

Marc Pictet, Senior Managing Partner of Pictet Group, has recently joined the Advisory Board of China’s prestigious Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management as one of the three new additional members, alongside Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA and Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD.

Founded in Beijing in 1911, Tsinghua University has developed into a comprehensive research university, with 22 schools and 59 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art.

Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management was founded in 1984 by the late former Premier Zhu Rongji serving as its founding dean (1984-2001), who also established the Advisory Board in 2000, with the mission of "enhancing the connection between the school and the outside world, raising the school's overall scientific research and teaching capacity, and helping the school to become a world leader in economics and management”.

Most Board members are chairpersons of globally renowned multinational corporations, along with deans of leading international business schools and Nobel Prize laureates in Economics.

Speaking at the School’s 2026 Advisory Board meeting in Beijing on 13–14 October, Marc Pictet expressed his honour of joining the Board and his commitment to serving as a bridge to foster greater understanding and cooperation in building enduring enterprises and sustaining prosperity across generations.

“As the only Swiss financial firm currently on the Board, Pictet embodies two principles that are fundamental to both the firm and Switzerland: independence and long-term thinking. These may be the most meaningful contributions Pictet can offer Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management. In this changing world, China and Switzerland as well as Europe are entering a new phase of deeper cooperation. An open and constructive dialogue and learning from each other is more vital than ever.”
