Trudi Usher Boardman recognised in inaugural Alts 50 ranking
Recognition for hedge fund leadership
Boardman’s ranking reflects her standing in the hedge fund and broader alternatives industry.
She is recognised for her rigorous approach to manager selection, disciplined portfolio construction and focus on client needs.
Her inclusion is particularly notable given the dominance of North American institutions in the alternatives sector and highlights the growing influence of European-based allocators.
The best investment outcomes are built on expertise, discipline and trusted partnerships.
Role at Pictet Alternative Advisors
Boardman joined Pictet Alternative Advisors in November 2023 as Head of Hedge Funds, bringing extensive experience in hedge funds, private credit and absolute return portfolios. Before joining Pictet, she worked at Cambridge Associates, where she was responsible for client relationships across discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios and served as an investment director specialising in hedge funds, private credit and absolute return mandates. Earlier in her career, she held roles at Partners Advisers SA and at Morgan Stanley, advising global hedge fund clients and European institutional investors.
She also spent time at a Swiss hedge fund allocator, where she gained direct experience in allocating capital and made the transition from analyst to portfolio manager. In 2013, she returned to the global investment manager where she began her career and went on to advise and invest for a wide range of institutional investors, including pension funds, family offices, endowments and foundations.
AS Head of Hedge Funds at Pictet Alternative Advisors, Boardman oversees hedge fund investment activities, with a focus on manager due diligence, portfolio resilience and meeting clients’ risk and return targets. Her approach reinforces Pictet’s long-standing commitment to alternatives as a core component of institutional portfolios.
A philosophy built on partnership
Commenting on the recognition, Boardman said: “The best investment outcomes are built on expertise, discipline and trusted partnerships.” The Alts 50 recognition underscores how this approach, applied consistently over time, can translate into industry influence as well as client impact.
