First phase of the Drize’s daylighting project

And a river runs through it...

In recent weeks, people in Geneva may have noticed water beginning to flow through the Drize River. This is because, on 25 November, the inauguration of the first phase of the Drize’s daylighting project was celebrated during an official event organised by cantonal and municipal authorities.

A unique project in Europe, completed in record time

The reopening of a watercourse in the heart of a city is a unique project in Europe. This initial phase was completed in record time, taking less than three years from the approval of the investment credit by the authorities to the inauguration. This achievement was made possible thanks to the expertise of teams with over 25 years of experience in river renaturation in Geneva. The authorities also highlighted the exceptional coordination of the construction work and the strong commitment of numerous public and private stakeholders, including Pictet.
