Pictet at Building Bridges Summit
Pictet plays a prominent role in the Building Bridges initiative and the yearly conference, and partners with Fondation Genève Place Financière and Sustainable Finance Geneva to channel capital towards the UN SDGs.
Building Bridges
Building Bridges is an initiative to accelerate the transition to a global economic model aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), jointly created and launched in 2019 by Swiss public authorities, representatives from the finance community, the United Nations and other international partners.
At the core of the initiative is the recognition that the scale and complexity of the transition requires building bridges between multiple stakeholders in the finance, government, and international development communities. The first edition of Building Bridges took place in October 2019 in Geneva.
Finance as a catalyst for sustainable development
The initiative aims to bring together international institutions and the financial community to advance sustainable finance through concrete actions. Taking advantage of Switzerland’s unique ecosystem, it convenes Swiss and international leaders and world-renowned speakers around a common vision and goal: to accelerate the transition towards a global economic model aligned with the imperatives of the UN SDGs, with finance as a catalyst.
Building Bridges Summit — 2-5 October 2023, Geneva
In its fourth edition, Building Bridges features a high-level one-day summit, over 70 community-led sessions over three days, and a networking village. Pictet is again engaging in all events, through conversations and meetings with other participants, as well as contributing to thematic sessions on a variety of topics. How investors and philanthropists can improve water stewardship
Achieving universal, affordable, and sustainable access to safe water and safe sanitation is one of the key challenges facing humanity today. These are the aims of SDG6, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal for water and sanitation. At a time of population growth and climate change, how can we make these services accessible and resilient while sustaining vital resources? Throughout the Group, the Pictet Water Stewardship Principles support and promote the principle of SDG6, to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
