Radical Beauty Project
The project seeks to provide an alternative vision for beauty today by shooting people with Down’s with the same dedication, talent, and creativity as major fashion campaigns.
In this episode we speak to Daniel Vais, Founder and Creative Director of the Radical Beauty Project and Drag Syndrome; Dr. Sarah Gordy MBE, whose career as an actor and dancer has included many major roles in theatre, film, TV, and radio, including the first leading role for a person with Down’s on British television; and Remy Best, Managing Partner of the Pictet Group.
Guest Speakers Bios
Daniel Vais is a renowned social choreographer, creative director, curator and founder of internationally acclaimed Drag Syndrome and Culture Device. He is known for merging avant-garde art and pop culture and working with elite neurodiverse artists. He directed and toured sell out shows internationally, he is also working as creative advisor for numerous artists and festivals. Daniel is the art director for Radical Beauty Project, a global art & fashion photography project focusing on models with Down syndrome. He is dyslexic.
Sarah Gordy is a prolific actor, dancer and model. She appeared on numerous TV, radio, short films and theatre productions to critical
acclaim. She is best known for her rolls as Kelly in Jellyfish (National
Theatre), The A Word, Katie in Ralph & Katie, JK Rowling’s Strike: The Silkworm, Call the Midwife and Upstairs Downstairs. Sarah is the principal dancer with Culture Device, dancing the leading role in The Rite at the Royal Opera House. In 2018 she became the first woman with Down syndrome to be made an MBE and the first person with Down syndrome to receive an honorary degree from a UK university.
Rémy has been Managing Partner of the Pictet Group since 2003. He has direct responsibility for the PictetWealth Management Division after being jointly responsible for the Group's institutional arm, PictetAsset Management, from 2003 to 2014. Prior to joining Pictet, Rémy spent six years with McKinsey & Company in New York, Zurich and Geneva, where he managed various projects, mainly in the financial services sector. Before working for McKinsey, he was a lawyer with Geneva law firm LaliveBudin& Partners. He joined Pictet in 1997 and in 1998 was appointed Head of Pictet & Cie (Europe) SA in Luxembourg, the bank responsible for the Group’s development within the European Union. Rémy holds a law degree and obtained an MBA from INSEAD. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of INSEAD since 2010. In 2016 the Board appointed him Chairman of the "Campaign 200", INSEAD ‘s most ambitious fundraising campaign since its creation in 1957, after he had previously chaired the Endowment Management Committee for a number of years.

Rosario Lebrija Rassvetaieff is Group New Media and Sponsoring Manager at the Pictet Group, where she hosts and produces the podcasts ‘Found in Conversation’ and ‘Prix Pictet: A lens on sustainability’. Born and raised in Mexico City, she holds a combined honours BA in Literature and International Relations (First Class) from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Communication and Media Studies (Distinction) from the London School of Economics.
