Laying the first stone

Over 20 years ago, in March 2002, Pictet marked the beginning of its presence in the Acacias district, with the launch of the construction of the current building. A new stage in the development of the Pictet Group in Geneva has now been reached, with the laying of the first stone of the Campus Pictet de Rochemont. Current and former Partners, representatives of the State of Geneva and the Municipality of Carouge, as well as project's main contractors, together celebrated this historic and symbolic moment.

The event brought together the Partners and former Partners of the Pictet Group, as well as representatives from the Canton of Geneva, the City of Carouge, the project's principal contractors and Group employees. All gathered at the actual site of the Campus to commemorate this milestone.

Following the official proceedings, the guests went outside to witness a remarkable sight. The stone, descending gracefully from the sky, was skilfully maneuvered by one of the crane drivers at the site. The weather, fortunately, was on our side, adding to the auspiciousness of the occasion.

Senior Managing Partner Renaud de Planta, accompanied by Océane de Brito, one of Pictet's youngest employees and representing the latest generation, had the privilege of symbolically sealing the first stone of the future building. This act served as a powerful representation of continuity and the passing of the torch from one generation to the next.
