How did you adapt to the current circumstances?
I set up a tentative satellite office in one room of the house to distinguish between being on and off work, taking a walk for exercise at lunchtime.
Are you witnessing any impact on your team?
Team members think they have to take this opportunity positively and to change the way they work towards digitalization.
Any anecdote you could share with us?
The Pictet Asset Management Japan Marketing Communications team have initiated a very successful and dynamic virtual marketing strategy as a response to the COVID-19 situation. This includes webinars, client and fund manager, marketing calls etc. all on a digital basis. The results have been so positive in terms of speed and client feedback that it really feels like a new era.
What do you look most forward to in the “new normal”?
It is difficult to imagine ever going back to the way things were done before now that we know the benefits and how to organize working from home. However, I believe this new working environment should also be applied to local communities and society at large. For example, to lead a world where people who were sick and couldn't attend an outside seminar or party were able to be present.
What impact do you see for Pictet? For the working world?
All Q2 & Q3 events have been cancelled or postponed. This includes concert events, staff and family events, marketing events as well as volunteering, etc. We all have to be creative and adapt. Pictet Asset Management Japan is taking on the creation of new webpages to provide information about the Group’s approach to sustainability and the environment.
