Pictet Luxembourg: appointment of Pierre Etienne

Pierre Etienne to take over from Marc Pictet at the helm of the Group's bank in LuxembourgPictet has today announced the appointment, as of 1 July 2010, of Pierre Etienne as Managing Director of Pictet & Cie (Europe) SA, the Pictet Group’s bank in the European Union, located in Luxembourg. He will take over from Marc Pictet, who will be moving to Geneva to become a Partner.

 

 

Pierre Etienne joined Pictet in May 2002, beginning his career with the Bank as a member of the Management Committee of Pictet Luxembourg, where he successfully headed the administrative and operational activities of the Group’s investment fund platform in the Grand Duchy. In 2009, the scope of Pierre Etienne's responsibilities was widened when he joined the Management Committee of the Group's custodian bank in Geneva.

 

Pierre Etienne is Belgian and holds a degree in civil engineering and applied mathematics from the Université catholique de Louvain and an MBA in Finance from Chicago

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Business School. Before joining Pictet he held a number of management positions, including as head of finance and operations at Banque Fortis in Luxembourg and then as director of e-banking at the Banque Générale du Luxembourg.

With assets under custody of more than EUR 100 billion, and employing more than 300 staff (around 450 if you include the staff of the European branches), Pictet Luxembourg is the Group’s largest entity outside Switzerland.
