Foundation of the International Museum of the Reformation
The Reformation had a decisive impact on Geneva's political and social scene and also helped to foster the city's emergence as a business and financial centre. In recognition of its significance, the Partners at Pictet decided to fund the creation of an International Museum of the Reformation in Geneva.Housed in the Maison Mallet, right beside the Cathedral and also Pictet's former head office, the International Museum of the Reformation displays most of the different trends that originated in the vast religious – and also political – movement that the Reformation turned out to be. In this respect, it is quite unique in the world. |

Adoption of a Clean Water Charter for the Lake Geneva region

An exceptional concert in the fight against malaria
As part of the Bicentennial, the Partners at Pictet & Cie contributed a sizeable donation to the "United against Malaria" concert, as a sign of their solidarity with all those working to eradiate a disease that kills a child in the world every 30 seconds.This very special event, organised by the Geneva Foundation and the United Nations on the occasion of the UN's 60th anniversary, brought together a host of international stars renowned for their humanitarian efforts. The artists, who came from all five continents, included Youssou N'Dour, Axelle Red, Neneh Cherry, Gilberto Gil, Anggun, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Stephane Eicher and Rokia Traoré, as well as some high-profile surprise guests, such as Peter Gabriel, David Rhodes and Manu Katché. The charity concert, held on 8 October 2005 before an audience of 6000 in Geneva's Arena venue, turned out to be a true evening of sharing. The proceeds raised were enough to buy 50,000 mosquito nets. |
