What is the legal structure of Pictet & Cie?

Founded in Geneva in 1805, Pictet & Cie is one of Switzerland's foremost private banks. Throughout its 200-year history, Pictet has retained its corporate structure as a private partnership.

This unique corporate structure means that the eight partners, who combine ownership and management of the Bank, not only provide Pictet's capital but also pledge their entire personal assets against the Bank's liabilities.

Pictet & Cie has always felt that this legal structure was the one best suited to its activities, and it has not prevented the Bank from growing into an international group with offices or entities in 19 major financial centres around the world.
